In this example we will be using a thirty system class room in a school. The classroom itself is used as a lab for learning different types of operating systems.

Every other day a different class comes into the lab to learn a different operating system. The dilemma of the IT department is how to change the OS on each system to match the classroom schedule.
There are several ways to achieve this:
You could have three different hard drives per system. This means a total of ninety different drives would be needed for the class room. This would be very expensive.
Another method would be to place different boot partitions on drives and have the students boot into the proper partition at the time of the class.
